Current time in Atlanta

Atlanta lies near 84.4° west, almost ten degrees west of the 75th meridian that Eastern Time is built on. The sun therefore reaches its highest point around 12:35 PM in winter and 1:35 PM during daylight time, later than in New York or Boston. Summer sunsets come close to 8:52 PM, and in early January the sun does not rise until about 7:43 AM, among the latest sunrises of any major Eastern city.
