Central Time in North Texas
The Dallas–Fort Worth area shares Central Time with Chicago, Houston, San Antonio, Minneapolis and New Orleans. It is one hour behind New York, one hour ahead of Denver and two ahead of Los Angeles all year. Texas as a whole is not uniform: El Paso and Hudspeth counties at the far western tip use Mountain Time, so a drive across the state ends an hour earlier on the clock.
Mexico City sits on the same longitude band but stopped observing daylight saving in 2022. From November to March Dallas and Mexico City show the same time; from March to November Dallas is one hour ahead, which matters for the many cross-border supply chains run from North Texas.
