How to use this tool

  1. 1

    Upload your cut-outs

Add PNG or WebP images with a transparent background, up to 20 at a time so a whole pack is done in one go.

  2. 2

    Keep the sticker settings

Width and height are 512 px and Fit is Fit inside (keep proportions), so the longest side becomes exactly 512 px and nothing is cropped. Output format is PNG.

  3. 3

Resize and send to the bot

Press Resize, download the files and send each one to @Stickers in Telegram as a file, not as a photo.

Telegram sticker size: why 512 px exactly

Telegram scales stickers itself, so it wants a predictable source: a 512 px box with the art touching at least one edge. A sticker that is 500 × 480 is refused even though it looks fine, and a 2000 px export is refused because it is too big. Resizing with Fit inside (keep proportions) solves both, because the longest side always lands on 512 px and the shorter side follows the original shape.

Do not pad the image to a full square unless your art is square. Empty transparent space shows up as a gap between the sticker and the chat bubble. If you need a square for another app, resize image to 512 × 512 handles that separately.

Starting from a WebP? The bot takes WebP as it is, but many editors cannot open it for touch-ups; WebP to PNG gives you an editable copy with transparency intact.

Telegram sticker maker questions

What size does a Telegram sticker have to be?

For a static sticker, one side must be exactly 512 pixels and the other 512 pixels or less, in PNG or WebP, with a file size of at most 512 KB. A 1024 × 800 image therefore becomes 512 × 400, which this page does automatically.

Why does @Stickers say the file is not a valid image?

Most often the image was sent as a photo. Telegram then compresses it to JPG, which drops the transparency and changes the size. Use the paperclip, choose File and send the PNG uncompressed.

Does this tool remove the background?

No, it resizes and keeps whatever transparency your image already has. Cut the subject out first in a photo editor or a background-removal app, then bring the transparent PNG here.

Can I make the sticker set icon or custom emoji here too?

Yes. Change width and height to 100 px: Telegram asks for 100 × 100 for custom emoji and for the optional pack icon, which must stay under 32 KB.

My sticker PNG is over 512 KB. What now?

Photographic stickers with lots of soft detail can exceed the limit as PNG. Switch Output format to WebP, which Telegram also accepts, or simplify the image. Sizes stay the same either way.

Can I make animated or video stickers with this?

No. Animated stickers use Telegram's .TGS format built from Lottie animations, and video stickers are WEBM files with the VP9 codec. This page makes static stickers only.
