Max 95 MB per file· Up to 50 files· Deleted after 30 minutes
Files are processed on our servers and deleted after 30 minutes.
White space around each image: small is 5 mm, medium 10 mm, large 20 mm. Ignored when page size is the same as the image.
Fit shows the whole image with white space if the shapes differ; fill covers the page and crops the edges; actual size places it at its print size from DPI.
Put 2 or 4 images on each page in a grid, for ID cards front and back or contact sheets.
Custom page width in millimetres (A4 is 210 mm).
Custom page height in millimetres (A4 is 297 mm).
One PDF with a page per image, or a separate PDF for every image downloaded as a ZIP.
The order you added the files (drag to rearrange), alphabetical by file name, or by the date the photo was taken.
JPEG quality of photos inside the PDF. 85 keeps them sharp; with a target size this is the starting point.

Why you ended up with .jfif files
JFIF was published in 1992 by Eric Hamilton at C-Cube Microsystems as the standard way to wrap JPEG-compressed data in a file, and it is still what sits inside most .jpg files. The extension .jfif almost never appeared until Windows 10 users began seeing it on images saved from Chrome and Edge. The browser asks Windows which extension belongs to the image/jpeg type, and on affected systems the registry answers .jfif.
Nothing is wrong with the images. The trouble starts when a job portal, a visa application or a school upload page checks the extension and accepts .jpg, .png or .pdf only. Putting the images into a PDF solves that and lets you send several pages as one file. If you need the images themselves as .jpg, JFIF to JPG re-saves them with the .jpg extension; our comparison of JPG, JPEG and PNG explains why the names differ at all.
How to stop Windows saving images as JFIF

- 02Open HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\MIME\Database\Content Type\image/jpeg.
- 03Change the Extension value from .jfif to .jpg.
- 04Restart the browser; new saves use .jpg.
Mac: open and combine
- 01Preview opens .jfif like any JPEG.
- 02Drop the files on this page to merge them.
- 03Pick Letter or A4 under Page size.
iPhone or Android
- 01Find the images in Files or Downloads.
- 02Upload them here from the browser.

JFIF
JPEG File Interchange Format
JFIF is the original container specification for JPEG data, written in 1992 by Eric Hamilton at C-Cube Microsystems. A .jfif file holds exactly the same lossy JPEG image data as a .jpg file; only the extension differs. Windows and some browsers save downloaded web images with the .jfif extension, which confuses apps and upload forms that only accept .jpg. Quality, size and limitations are identical to JPEG: no transparency, no animation, and some loss on every re-save. Most image viewers open it, and simply renaming it to .jpg usually works.

Portable Document Format
PDF was created by Adobe in 1993 and became the open ISO 32000 standard in 2008. It fixes text, fonts, images and layout so a document looks the same on every screen and printer. PDFs can contain forms, signatures, links, attachments and searchable text, and the PDF/A variant is used for long-term archiving. The fixed layout makes PDFs hard to edit, and scanned PDFs contain only images unless OCR is applied. Every browser and operating system can open them.

A .jfif image is usually a photo or scan that has to be submitted as a document, and many forms list PDF as the only accepted type, so the images go onto pages instead of being renamed.
Page sizes and the pixels that fill them
| Size | Pixels | cm | in | DPI | Fits |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| A4 | 2480 × 3508 | 21 × 29.7 | 8.27 × 11.69 | 300 | Default here; ISO 216, used outside North America |
| Letter | 2550 × 3300 | 21.59 × 27.94 | 8.5 × 11 | 300 | US and Canadian forms |
| Legal | 2550 × 4200 | 21.59 × 35.56 | 8.5 × 14 | 300 | US contracts and court filings |
| A5 | 1748 × 2480 | 14.8 × 21 | 5.83 × 8.27 | 300 | Half of A4, booklets and flyers |
The pixel column tells you how sharp a printed page will be. A phone photo of 4032 × 3024 px has more than enough for A4 at 300 DPI; an image of 800 × 600 px saved from a website covers A4 at only about 100 DPI and will look soft on paper, though fine on screen.
Image on page decides how a picture meets the page. Fit shows the whole image and leaves white space when the shapes differ. Fill covers the page and trims the edges, which suits full-bleed photos but can cut off the edge of a document scan. Actual size uses the DPI stored in the file, which is useful for scans that were made at a known resolution.
JFIF to PDF questions
What is a JFIF file, and is it different from JPG?
JFIF is the JPEG File Interchange Format, a 1992 specification for how JPEG data is stored in a file. Nearly every .jpg on your computer is technically JFIF already; the .jfif extension is just a different label on the same kind of image.
Why does my browser save pictures as .jfif?
On some Windows installs the registry maps the image/jpeg type to the .jfif extension, often after other software changed it. Chrome and Edge then use that extension when you save an image. The fix is under the Windows column above.
Can I convert JFIF to PDF with several images in one file?
Yes. Add all the images in one batch and keep Output on One PDF; each image becomes a page in upload order. Use Images per page set to 2 to put the front and back of an ID card on a single page.
The portal says my PDF is too large. What should I do?
Switch PDF file size to Target size and enter the limit, for example 200 KB. The photos inside are recompressed until the whole PDF fits. The image to PDF 200 KB page has that limit preset.
Do I need PDF/A for a government form?
Only if the form says so. For court and archive portals that require it, tick PDF/A (archive) under Advanced settings; the file is written as PDF/A-2b.
