JPG to PDF Under 50 KB
Some application forms accept a certificate only as a PDF of 50 KB or less, while a phone photo of that certificate is usually several megabytes. This page starts with a 50 KB target, so one press shrinks the scan to fit.

White space around each image: small is 5 mm, medium 10 mm, large 20 mm. Ignored when page size is the same as the image.
Fit shows the whole image with white space if the shapes differ; fill covers the page and crops the edges; actual size places it at its print size from DPI.
Put 2 or 4 images on each page in a grid, for ID cards front and back or contact sheets.

JPEG quality of photos inside the PDF. 85 keeps them sharp; with a target size this is the starting point.
How to use this tool
- 1
Upload the scan or photo
Add the JPG of your document, cropped to the paper if you can: every pixel of table or background costs bytes the text needs.
- 2
Check the size target
PDF file size is already on Target size with Max size at 50 KB and an A4 page. If the form gives a range such as 50 KB to 100 KB, type a number inside it, for example 80.
- 3
Convert and check the result
Press Convert to PDF, then open the file and zoom in on the smallest text before uploading.
How do I make a JPG into a PDF under 50 KB?
Upload the JPG, keep the 50 KB target that this page sets, and press Convert to PDF. The image is scaled to about 100 DPI and compressed until the whole PDF fits.
What fits in a 50 KB PDF
A PDF built from an image is mostly that image. The page structure adds only a few kilobytes, so close to 47 KB of the budget goes to one JPEG picture of your page. What decides its size is the number of pixels and the JPEG quality.
Pixels follow from DPI. An A4 sheet is 8.27 × 11.69 in, so at 300 DPI it holds 2480 × 3508 pixels, at 150 DPI 1240 × 1754, and at 100 DPI 827 × 1169. Halving the DPI leaves a quarter of the pixels and, roughly, a quarter of the bytes. For a single page of typed text, around 100 DPI with JPEG quality in the 50s typically lands near 50 KB and stays readable at normal zoom. Color photos and busy backgrounds need harsher settings, which shows as blur.
That is why a 50 KB limit is practical for one page only. For a two-page mark sheet, the JPG to PDF 150 KB target is a better fit when the form permits it.
Forms that use 50 KB as a minimum or a maximum
| Organisation | Requirement | Source |
|---|---|---|
| NTA forms (JEE Main, NEET UG) | Recent information bulletins listed category and similar certificates as PDF between 50 KB and 300 KB, so 50 KB is the floor, not the cap. | nta.ac.in |
| IBPS bank recruitment | Hand-written declaration as a JPG or JPEG of 50 KB to 100 KB; an image field, not a PDF. | ibps.in |
| SSC (Staff Selection Commission) | Photograph as a JPEG of 20 KB to 50 KB in its registration form; also an image field. | ssc.gov.in |
JPG to PDF 50 KB to 100 KB without rejections

JPEG image
JPEG (or JPG) is the most widely used photo format, standardised by the Joint Photographic Experts Group in 1992. It uses lossy compression that discards fine detail the eye is unlikely to notice, which keeps photos small enough for the web, email and phone storage. It handles smooth gradients and natural scenes well, but sharp text, line art and flat colours pick up visible blocky or fuzzy artefacts. JPEG has no transparency and no animation, and every re-save loses a little more quality. Every browser, phone, camera and image editor can open it.

Portable Document Format
PDF was created by Adobe in 1993 and became the open ISO 32000 standard in 2008. It fixes text, fonts, images and layout so a document looks the same on every screen and printer. PDFs can contain forms, signatures, links, attachments and searchable text, and the PDF/A variant is used for long-term archiving. The fixed layout makes PDFs hard to edit, and scanned PDFs contain only images unless OCR is applied. Every browser and operating system can open them.

Here a JPG becomes a PDF only because an exam or scholarship form insists on a document file under a tight cap; the PDF is a wrapper sized for that one upload field, not a better way to store the photo.
JPG to PDF 50 KB questions
How do I convert a JPG to a PDF of exactly 50 KB?
Exactly is rarely possible, and forms do not ask for it; they want the file at or under the limit. The converter lowers JPEG quality and resolution until the PDF is at or just under 50 KB, so you get the sharpest version that still fits.
The form says JPG to PDF 50 KB to 100 KB. What target should I enter?
Enter about 80 KB. A file at the very top of a range can be rejected after rounding, and one far below the minimum is rejected too. A value in the middle passes both checks and keeps the text readable.
Can I fit two pages into a 50 KB PDF?
Only for clean, mostly white text pages, and even then the text gets soft. If the form allows it, upload the pages separately, or check whether a larger limit applies with the JPG to PDF 100 KB setting.
My scan is unreadable at 50 KB. What can I do?
Crop to the paper edges, photograph the document in daylight without shadows, and choose grayscale in your scanner app; color noise eats the budget. A flat, evenly lit page compresses far better than a dim one.
Is a 50 KB JPG the same as a 50 KB PDF?
No. If the form asks for a JPG, uploading a PDF fails no matter its size. For image fields use compress image to 50 KB, and use this page only where the field says PDF.
Why is my PDF 52 KB when the form shows 51 KB?
Some portals count 1 KB as 1,000 bytes and others as 1,024. Set the target a few kilobytes under the limit, such as 46 KB, to stay safe whichever way the site counts.
