Image to PDF Under 200 KB

200 KB is one of the most common upload caps on Indian scholarship, admission and recruitment portals. This converter is set to that limit, so the photo of your certificate comes out as a PDF that the form accepts.

How to use this tool

  1. 1

    Choose the image

Upload the JPG, PNG or HEIC of your document, straight from the phone gallery if you like. Several images can go into one PDF, up to 50.

  2. 2

Leave the target at 200 KB

PDF file size is on Target size, Max size 200 KB, A4 portrait or landscape to match each image. Lower it to 190 KB if the portal is strict about the last byte.

  3. 3

    Convert to PDF

Press Convert to PDF and download. Open the file once and read the smallest text before you upload it.

Convert JPG to PDF 200 KB: what changes inside the file

A phone photo of a certificate is typically 2 to 5 MB, ten or twenty times the limit. Shrinking it to 200 KB means two things happen to the picture. First, JPEG quality goes down: this page starts at 80 and steps lower while the PDF is too large. Second, if quality alone is not enough, the image is scaled to fewer pixels, which is the same as lowering its DPI on the page.

Both choices hurt detail in different ways. Low quality creates blocky smudges around letters; low resolution makes the whole page soft. For text documents, keeping enough pixels matters most, which is why 150 DPI is a good working point: an A4 page then has 1240 × 1754 pixels and a typed page usually fits 200 KB at a quality that still reads cleanly. The PDF structure around the image adds only a few kilobytes.

If your file is already a PDF, skip the conversion and use compress PDF to 200 KB, which shrinks the images inside it directly.

Portable Document Format

PDF was created by Adobe in 1993 and became the open ISO 32000 standard in 2008. It fixes text, fonts, images and layout so a document looks the same on every screen and printer. PDFs can contain forms, signatures, links, attachments and searchable text, and the PDF/A variant is used for long-term archiving. The fixed layout makes PDFs hard to edit, and scanned PDFs contain only images unless OCR is applied. Every browser and operating system can open them.

Here any photo or scan is wrapped in a PDF for one reason: the upload field accepts only PDF and rejects anything over 200 KB, so size matters more than image fidelity.

Image to PDF 200 KB questions

How do I convert JPG to PDF 200 KB on my phone?

Open this page in Chrome or Safari, tap the upload area, pick the photo from your gallery and press Convert to PDF. The 200 KB target is already set. The PDF lands in Downloads on Android or can be saved to Files on an iPhone.

Will the PDF be exactly 200 KB?

It will be at or a little under 200 KB, never over. The converter stops at the highest quality that still fits, so a simple page may come out well below the limit.

Which forms ask for an image as a PDF under 200 KB?

The National Scholarship Portal has allowed 200 KB per document, and many state scholarship, college admission and recruitment portals use the same figure for certificates. Always read the current notice of your own form, as limits change.

Can I put my 10th and 12th mark sheets in one 200 KB PDF?

Yes if the form asks for them together. Upload both photos and keep Output on One PDF; at 200 KB two text pages stay readable. If they must be separate uploads, set Output to One PDF per image.

Why does the portal say the file is not a valid PDF?

Usually the file is still a JPG with a .pdf name, often after a rename in a file manager. Convert it here instead; the result is a real PDF that any portal can parse.

The image looks blurry after converting to 200 KB. Can I fix it?

Crop away the background before uploading so all pixels go to the paper, and photograph it in even light. If the form allows more, the image to PDF 300 KB target keeps more detail.
