HEIC to MP4 Converter
iPhone photos are HEIC files, and most video tools on Windows and the web still stumble over them. Upload the HEIC photos as they are and get an MP4 slideshow that plays on any phone, TV or social app.

Contain shows the whole image with bars, cover fills the frame and crops the edges, blur fills the bars with a blurred copy of the image.
Fills the frame behind a waveform, around a contained image, or the whole video when plain color is chosen.
How the sound is drawn. Bars and spectrum react clearly to music; line suits speech and podcasts.

192 kbps keeps music clean; uploading platforms re-encode anyway, so higher rarely helps.

How to use this tool
- 1
Upload the HEIC photos
Add up to 20 .heic or .heif files straight from the iPhone's Files app or an AirDrop folder. Include a song in the same batch for a soundtrack.
- 2
Keep the 4:5 frame or change it
This page starts at 1080 × 1350 with Image fit on Cover, which fills the frame from 3:4 iPhone shots with a slim crop. Each photo holds for 4 seconds and slides to the next.
- 3
Convert to MP4
Press Convert to MP4 and save the video. The HEIC uploads and the MP4 are deleted from the server after 30 minutes.
How do I turn iPhone HEIC photos into a video?
Upload the HEIC files, add a song if you want one, and press Convert to MP4. Each photo becomes a timed frame in a slideshow, encoded in a format every device plays.
Why convert HEIC photos to an MP4 video
HEIF was standardized by MPEG in 2015, and Apple made it the iPhone camera default with iOS 11 in 2017. The format stores images with the HEVC video codec, which is why a photo takes so little space. It also means a PC or website without an HEVC decoder may show nothing at all when it meets a .heic file.
Making a video sidesteps that problem. The photos are decoded on our server, scaled to the frame you choose, and turned into a sequence of video frames. The finished MP4 plays in Windows Media Player, Android galleries, smart TVs and every social app, even on machines that have never opened a HEIC.
It is also the quickest route from a camera roll to a post. A trip, a birthday or a product shoot becomes one file you can share in a chat, add to a Reel or upload to YouTube with music underneath.
HEIC to video: what changes and what does not
MythA HEIC photo is already a tiny video because it uses a video codec.
FactIt is a single compressed frame. A video needs a timeline, a frame rate and usually a sound track, which the conversion adds.
MythYou have to convert HEIC to JPG before making a slideshow.
FactThe HEIC is decoded directly, so the extra JPG step only adds another round of compression.
MythA Live Photo uploaded as HEIC will move in the video.
FactOnly the still is in the HEIC; the motion lives in a separate MOV file.

HEIC
High Efficiency Image Container
HEIC is the HEIF image container (an MPEG standard from 2015) holding pictures compressed with the HEVC (H.265) codec. Apple made it the default photo format on iPhone and iPad in 2017 because it stores photos at roughly half the size of JPEG with similar quality. It can hold depth data, Live Photo sequences, transparency and 10-bit colour. Support outside the Apple ecosystem is patchy: many Windows PCs, web browsers, websites and online forms cannot open HEIC without extra codecs.

MPEG-4 video
MP4 (MPEG-4 Part 14) is a multimedia container standardised by ISO/MPEG and based on Apple's QuickTime format. It usually holds H.264 or HEVC video with AAC audio, and can also carry subtitles, chapters and metadata. It is the most compatible video format in the world, playing on phones, browsers, TVs, game consoles and social platforms. The video inside is almost always lossy, so repeated re-encoding gradually reduces quality.

HEIC to MP4 lets iPhone owners make a shareable slideshow without a JPG detour: the HEVC stills are decoded and re-encoded as H.264 frames, which play on devices that cannot open HEIC at all.
Choosing a frame for iPhone photos
The iPhone's main camera shoots 4:3, so a portrait photo is 3024 × 4032 pixels at 12 megapixels. The 1080 × 1350 frame used here is 4:5, the tallest shape the Instagram feed allows, and Image fit on Cover crops only a sliver from the top and bottom.
For Reels, Shorts and TikTok choose 1080 × 1920 and switch Image fit to Blurred fill, so the whole photo stays visible over a soft background instead of losing its edges. Landscape shots and YouTube suit 1920 × 1080. If HEIC itself is new to you, our explainer on AVIF, HEIC and WebP covers where it came from and who supports it.
HEIC to MP4 questions
Why does my iPhone save photos as HEIC?
Since iOS 11 in 2017, iPhones from the iPhone 7 onward save photos in HEIF with HEVC compression, which Apple names HEIC. Apple says it needs about half the space of a comparable JPG. You can switch the camera to JPG under Settings, Camera, Formats, Most Compatible, but that only affects new photos.
Can I convert a Live Photo to MP4 here?
The HEIC part of a Live Photo becomes a still frame in the video. The moving part is a separate short MOV clip stored alongside it, which this tool does not take; export it from the Photos app and use MOV to MP4 to convert that clip.
Why is the video not HEVC like the photo?
HEIC photos are compressed with HEVC, also called H.265, but plenty of Windows PCs, older Android phones and smart TVs cannot decode HEVC video. The frames are therefore encoded as H.264, which plays on virtually every device and every upload platform.
Will HDR or Portrait mode depth carry into the video?
No. A HEIC can store extra images next to the photo, such as a depth map for Portrait mode, and those are dropped. The video shows the photo as it looks in a standard viewer.
Should I make a JPG first and then a video?
Not for the video, because the HEIC is decoded directly here. If you also need still copies for a website or a form that rejects HEIC, use HEIC to JPG.
Can I mix HEIC photos with JPG and PNG in one slideshow?
Yes. All three are accepted in one batch, along with WebP and AVIF, and every picture is fitted to the same Video size so the slideshow looks consistent.
