JPG to MP4: Photos to Video
Some places only take video: YouTube, Reels, a TV playing from a USB stick. Turn one JPG or a whole set into an MP4 slideshow, silent or with a song underneath.

Contain shows the whole image with bars, cover fills the frame and crops the edges, blur fills the bars with a blurred copy of the image.
Fills the frame behind a waveform, around a contained image, or the whole video when plain color is chosen.
How the sound is drawn. Bars and spectrum react clearly to music; line suits speech and podcasts.
Color of the waveform drawing, e.g. #FFFFFF on a dark background.
Used when you upload images without audio, or several images with one track: how long each picture stays on screen.

192 kbps keeps music clean; uploading platforms re-encode anyway, so higher rarely helps.

How to use this tool
- 1
Add your JPG photos
Drop up to 20 files at once. Add an MP3 or other audio file in the same batch if the video should have sound; leave it out for a silent clip.
- 2
Set timing and frame
Each photo shows for 3 seconds with a crossfade. Change Seconds per image and Transition under Advanced settings, and pick a Video size such as 1080 × 1920 for vertical feeds.
- 3
Convert to MP4
Press Convert to MP4 and download the slideshow. Your photos and the video are deleted from the server after 30 minutes.
Turn JPG images into an MP4 video
JPEG, standardized in 1992, is how almost every camera and phone has saved photos since. A JPG is one frame, though, and many destinations want a timeline: YouTube accepts only video files, Reels are video by definition, and most smart TVs and digital photo frames play a USB stick of MP4 files more reliably than a folder of pictures.
The conversion holds each picture for a set number of seconds, crossfades or slides to the next, and writes the result at the frame size you pick. Because neighboring frames of a still image are identical, the video stays compact, usually smaller than the photos added together.
Three ways to make a video from JPG photos
One photo, one track
Upload a JPG with an audio file. The picture stays up for the whole song, the classic format for music uploads.
Silent slideshow
Upload only photos. Ten JPGs at 3 seconds each give a 30-second clip ready for in-app music.
Photos set to music
Upload photos and a song. Leave Repeat images to fit audio on to cycle them, or off to spread them evenly over the track.

JPG
JPEG image
JPEG (or JPG) is the most widely used photo format, standardised by the Joint Photographic Experts Group in 1992. It uses lossy compression that discards fine detail the eye is unlikely to notice, which keeps photos small enough for the web, email and phone storage. It handles smooth gradients and natural scenes well, but sharp text, line art and flat colours pick up visible blocky or fuzzy artefacts. JPEG has no transparency and no animation, and every re-save loses a little more quality. Every browser, phone, camera and image editor can open it.

MPEG-4 video
MP4 (MPEG-4 Part 14) is a multimedia container standardised by ISO/MPEG and based on Apple's QuickTime format. It usually holds H.264 or HEVC video with AAC audio, and can also carry subtitles, chapters and metadata. It is the most compatible video format in the world, playing on phones, browsers, TVs, game consoles and social platforms. The video inside is almost always lossy, so repeated re-encoding gradually reduces quality.

JPG to MP4 is about turning photos into something that plays: reels, video uploads and TV screens accept video only, so the stills become timed frames in a slideshow.
Posting a photo video to Reels, TikTok and YouTube
Match the frame to the feed before converting. Reels and TikTok fill the phone screen at 1080 × 1920, the Instagram feed favors 1080 × 1350, and YouTube's main player is 16:9. Our guide to Instagram post and story sizes lists every placement.
Keep important faces and text away from the top and bottom of vertical frames, where the apps draw captions and buttons. For screenshots, logos or slides exported as images, PNG to MP4 handles transparency, and iPhone photos can go straight in through HEIC to MP4 without converting them to JPG first.
JPG to MP4 questions
Can I make a video from JPG pictures without music?
Yes. Upload only images and the MP4 is a silent slideshow whose length is the number of photos times Seconds per image. Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Shorts all let you add licensed music inside the app afterwards.
How do I make a still JPG last as long as my song?
Upload the photo together with the audio file. The video runs for the full length of the audio, and the single image stays on screen the whole time. With several photos, Repeat images to fit audio cycles them until the song ends.
What order do the photos play in?
They follow the order of the file list. To control it, name the files 01.jpg, 02.jpg, 03.jpg and so on before uploading, since leading zeros keep 10.jpg from landing before 2.jpg.
My photos are portrait but the video is landscape. What happens?
With Image fit on Blurred fill, the whole photo stays visible and the empty sides are filled with a blurred copy of it. Choose Cover to fill the frame by cropping, or set Video size to 1080 × 1920 so tall photos fill a vertical frame.
Will the MP4 look sharper than my JPG?
No. The video frame is built from the photo's pixels, so a small or heavily compressed JPG stays soft. Start from the largest version you have; a 12-megapixel phone photo has far more detail than a 1080-pixel frame needs.
Can I make a GIF instead of a video?
For a short silent loop in chats and forums, JPG to GIF builds an animated GIF. For anything longer than a few seconds, or anything with sound, MP4 is far smaller and plays everywhere.
