PST to CET time
Central Europe is nine hours ahead of the US West Coast in a normal week: 6:00 AM in Seattle or Los Angeles is 3:00 PM in Paris, Berlin or Stockholm. During the brief spring and autumn weeks when only one side has changed clocks, the difference is eight hours.

West Coast mornings belong to Europe
For anyone on Pacific time who works with Europe, the useful window is before breakfast. At 8:00 AM Pacific, European colleagues are finishing at 5:00 PM, so meetings tend to start at 7:00 or 7:30 AM on the West Coast. If that is impossible, the next option is asynchronous work: write at the end of the Pacific day and read the European replies the following morning.
Deadlines given in Central European time arrive the night before on the West Coast. Midnight CET is 3:00 PM Pacific on the previous day, so "by Friday" from a European client really means Thursday afternoon in California.
European sport at lunchtime
Champions League evening matches at 9:00 PM CET start at noon Pacific, and the earlier 6:45 PM kickoffs at 9:45 AM. Weekend matches in Spain, Italy and Germany land between 4:00 AM and 1:00 PM Pacific. Formula 1's European races, mostly starting at 3:00 PM local time, begin at 6:00 AM in California.
Watch for the March weeks between the US and EU clock changes: in that period every kickoff is one hour later on the West Coast. For the European angle on the same pair, see CET to PST.
