What size is a UAE visa photo?
Commonly 43 × 55 mm, which is 508 × 650 px at 300 DPI, in color on a plain white background, taken recently, with the face straight to the camera and no glasses.

Visas for the UAE are issued by two authorities: the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP) for most emirates, and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) for Dubai. Their online services, the Amer centers in Dubai and private typing centers all take a digital photo, and the 43 × 55 mm frame is the size they commonly quote. The ratio is about 4:5, a little squarer than the 7:9 of a 35 × 45 mm photo.
Kilobyte limits are where the channels differ. Each portal and center sets its own maximum, and it can change with system updates, so check the current guidance on the screen you are uploading to rather than trusting an old number. The preset keeps the photo at 508 × 650 px; only the compression changes when you set a limit.

What UAE visa photo checks look for

UAE visa photo questions
Is the UAE visa photo the same as the Emirates ID photo?
Usually the same file serves both. When a residence visa is processed, the Emirates ID application uses a recent color photo on white, and typing centers normally submit the one they already have. Keep the 43 × 55 mm JPG so you can reuse it if the ID is renewed.
Do I need a photo if I get a visa on arrival in Dubai?
No. Nationalities eligible for a visa on arrival are stamped or registered at the airport with a live photo and passport scan. A photo file is needed only when someone applies for the visa before you travel.
Can a UAE visa photo have a blue background?
Use white. UAE portals and typing centers expect a plain white background, and a colored or patterned wall is a frequent reason a file is sent back. Pick White under Background and the wall behind you is replaced.
My airline is applying for my Dubai visa. What photo should I send?
Airlines such as Emirates and flydubai offer visa services for passengers flying with them and ask for a color passport-style photo plus a passport copy. Send the 43 × 55 mm JPG from this page; if their form shows a size limit, apply it with Limit file size.
What if the portal says my UAE photo file is too large?
Turn on Limit file size and enter the number the portal shows. The photo keeps its 508 × 650 px dimensions and only the JPG quality drops, which is not visible at that size. The compress image to 100 KB page works for other attachments, such as a passport scan.
