Increase Image Size to 50 KB

Bank and exam portals often accept an upload only inside a window such as 20–50 KB or 50–100 KB. This page lifts a small JPG, PNG or iPhone photo to 50 KB, saves it as JPG and leaves the width and height alone.

How to use this tool

  1. 1

    Upload the scan or photo

Add the photo, thumb impression or declaration that the portal called too small. HEIC from an iPhone and PNG from a scanner app are fine; the result is saved as JPG.

  2. 2

    Pick the right number

Minimum size reads 50 KB. If 50 KB is the top of your range rather than the bottom, change it to 40 or 45 so the result stays under the limit.

  3. 3

    Increase and check

Press Increase size, then confirm the file size on your phone or computer before uploading. The file arrives at or just above the number you entered.

If 50 KB is the ceiling of your range, aim for 40–45 KB; if it is the floor, keep 50. The number you enter is a minimum, never a maximum.

How to increase image size to 50 KB inside a size window

Most Indian bank and recruitment notices give a range, not a single number. The bottom of the range filters out thumbnails and nearly blank scans; the top keeps the server from filling up with 5 MB phone photos. Your file has to land between them, and the most common trap is overshooting: people type the larger number into an increase tool and end up just over the maximum.

This page therefore treats 50 KB in two ways. For an upload whose minimum is 50 KB, like many handwritten declarations, the default works as is. For a photo or thumb impression capped at 50 KB, lower the target to 40–45 KB. In both cases the image is first re-saved as JPG at higher quality and then, if needed, padded with invisible bytes, so what the examiner sees is the same picture you uploaded.

Already above the limit? That is the opposite job, handled by compress image to 50 KB. If the notice asks for 100 KB or more, use increase image size to 100 KB.

Where 50 KB sits on common upload ranges

  1. 10 KB

Floor for signatures on many forms

  2. 20 KB

Floor for photos and thumb impressions

  3. 40–45 KB

Safe target under a 50 KB cap

  4. 50 KB

Cap for photos, floor for declarations

  5. 100 KB

    Cap for handwritten declarations

Before you upload the 50 KB file

  • The file name ends in .jpg or .jpeg, not .heic or .png.
  • Width and height still match the notice, for example 200 × 230 px for a photo.
  • Your file manager shows a size inside the range, not just above the floor.
  • The declaration is legible at 100% zoom, written in the ink color the notice asks for.
  • Each document has its own file: photo, thumb, signature and declaration are never combined.

Increase image size to 50 KB questions

My form says 20–50 KB. Should I enter 50?

No. The result lands at or slightly above the number you type, so 50 could come back as 51 KB and break the upper limit. Enter something between 30 and 45 KB: comfortably above the floor, safely under the ceiling.

Which uploads actually need 50 KB or more?

On bank recruitment forms the handwritten declaration is the usual one, often listed as 50–100 KB, because it is a full paragraph of handwriting rather than a short signature. Some university and state forms also set 50 KB as a minimum for photos.

Why is the result saved as JPG even though I uploaded a PNG?

This page sets Output format to JPG because nearly every exam and bank portal lists JPG or JPEG as the only accepted type. A PNG or HEIC is converted first and then raised to 50 KB. Choose Same as input under Advanced settings if your form takes PNG.

Will the portal notice the added padding?

Upload checks read the file type, the dimensions and the size, all of which are standard. The padding lives in a metadata segment that image viewers skip, so the photo displays exactly as before; some portals re-save photos after upload, which simply drops it.

How can I see the exact KB size on my phone?

On an iPhone, open the Files app, press and hold the image, and tap Get Info. On Android, open the Files app, tap the three-dot menu on the image and choose File info or Details. Gallery apps sometimes show a rounded figure, so trust the file manager.

My scan is blurry. Will raising it to 50 KB fix it?

No. Extra kilobytes do not add focus or detail. Rescan in daylight with the phone held flat, crop tightly, then come back here if the new file is still below the minimum.
