JPG to PDF Under 2 MB
A 2 MB cap is generous for one page and tight for a long document. This page sorts your JPGs into a Letter-size PDF and spends the 2 MB so that every page stays sharp.

Files are processed on our servers and deleted after 30 minutes.
White space around each image: small is 5 mm, medium 10 mm, large 20 mm. Ignored when page size is the same as the image.
Fit shows the whole image with white space if the shapes differ; fill covers the page and crops the edges; actual size places it at its print size from DPI.
Put 2 or 4 images on each page in a grid, for ID cards front and back or contact sheets.
Custom page width in millimetres (A4 is 210 mm).
Custom page height in millimetres (A4 is 297 mm).

JPEG quality of photos inside the PDF. 85 keeps them sharp; with a target size this is the starting point.
How to use this tool
- 1
Upload the page photos
Add up to 50 JPGs. Page order follows the file names, which matches shooting order on most phones; drag a thumbnail to fix any page.
- 2
Leave the 2 MB target
PDF file size is Target size with Max size 1950 KB, just under 2 MB however a site counts, and Image quality starts at 90. Letter pages are preselected; switch to A4 outside North America.
- 3
Convert and attach
Press Convert to PDF and download. The file lands at or just under 2 MB, or smaller when your pages need less.
How do I convert JPG to PDF under 2 MB?
Upload the JPGs and press Convert to PDF. The cap is preset just under 2 MB, so the images are recompressed only as far as needed to bring the whole PDF below it.
Who needs JPG to PDF in 2 MB
Two megabytes is a common ceiling for document uploads on job and HR sites. LinkedIn's Easy Apply, for one, has listed DOC, DOCX and PDF resumes at up to 2 MB, and many company career portals and university systems set the same round number per attachment. It is rarely a problem for typed files, but a document photographed page by page with a phone easily runs to 30 MB or more.
That is where this cap earns its place. A dozen pages photographed for a visa sponsor, a portfolio of printed work, a signed contract with initials on every page: all of them need to stay readable, and 2 MB is enough to do it if the bytes are spread sensibly.
How DPI and JPEG quality share 2 MB
12 phone photos
≈ 36 MB
12 MP JPGs at a typical 3 MB each
One Letter PDF
< 2 MB
about 170 KB per page
A Letter page is 8.5 × 11 in. At 200 DPI it needs 1700 × 2200 px, about 3.7 megapixels; at 150 DPI, 1275 × 1650 px, about 2.1 megapixels. A 12 MP phone photo has more than three times what a 200 DPI page can show, so the first and cheapest saving is resolution nobody would see.
With around 170 KB per page, the converter can keep JPEG quality high, near the 90 this page starts at, and still print text at roughly 200 DPI. As pages are added, the per-page share shrinks and quality steps down before resolution does. If you already have a heavy PDF rather than photos, compress PDF to 2 MB does the same budgeting on the existing file, and JPG to PDF 1 MB is one rung lower on the ladder.
Do and don't for a 2 MB PDF
| Do | Don't |
|---|---|
| Shoot pages in even daylight, square-on to the paper. | Upload screenshots of the photos instead of the photos themselves. |
| Name files in page order before uploading. | Include blank backs of single-sided pages. |
| Keep Auto orient on for photos taken in landscape. | Raise Image quality to 100; it costs size and adds nothing visible. |
| Keep Max size at 1950 KB so decimal and binary counts both pass. | Zip the PDF; most upload fields accept only .pdf. |
JPG and PDF: the two formats
JPG
JPEG image
JPEG (or JPG) is the most widely used photo format, standardised by the Joint Photographic Experts Group in 1992. It uses lossy compression that discards fine detail the eye is unlikely to notice, which keeps photos small enough for the web, email and phone storage. It handles smooth gradients and natural scenes well, but sharp text, line art and flat colours pick up visible blocky or fuzzy artefacts. JPEG has no transparency and no animation, and every re-save loses a little more quality. Every browser, phone, camera and image editor can open it.

Portable Document Format
PDF was created by Adobe in 1993 and became the open ISO 32000 standard in 2008. It fixes text, fonts, images and layout so a document looks the same on every screen and printer. PDFs can contain forms, signatures, links, attachments and searchable text, and the PDF/A variant is used for long-term archiving. The fixed layout makes PDFs hard to edit, and scanned PDFs contain only images unless OCR is applied. Every browser and operating system can open them.

People convert JPGs to a PDF under 2 MB to send a long document, often ten pages or more, through a job site or form that caps uploads at 2 MB, without dropping the quality a reader needs.
JPG to PDF 2 MB: answers
Is a 2 MB limit 2,000 KB or 2,048 KB?
It depends on the site. A binary megabyte makes 2 MB 2,097,152 bytes, a decimal one 2,000,000 bytes, almost 5% less. That is why Max size starts at 1950 KB here: 1950 × 1,024 bytes is 1,996,800, which passes either check.
How many JPG pages fit in a 2 MB PDF?
Typically ten to fifteen document pages with almost no visible loss, or twenty to thirty with softer detail. Full-color photos with lots of texture take more room per page than printed paperwork.
Why not leave PDF file size on Best quality?
At Best quality, twelve phone photos produce a PDF of several tens of megabytes, because each page keeps every pixel the camera recorded. Target size removes what a reader cannot see and stops at 2 MB.
Will a 2 MB PDF go through email?
Easily. Gmail accepts attachments up to 25 MB, and most work mail servers allow at least 10 MB. A 2 MB file also opens quickly on a phone, which matters when the reader checks it on the go.
Do I need the PDF/A option for a 2 MB upload?
Only if the receiver asks for PDF/A, which some courts and archives do. Ticking it makes the file slightly larger, and the converter still keeps the total under 2 MB.
What if the limit is 1 MB instead?
Choose 1 MB in the size row below. Pages get half the data each, which is still fine for printed text but softens photos and handwriting.
