Excel to PNG Converter
Put a pivot table, a KPI summary or a chart into a slide deck or a wiki page as a PNG that stays sharp when it is resized. The default here is 300 DPI, because spreadsheet images are usually zoomed into.

85 keeps text sharp at a moderate size. Lower values make smaller files but blur small print.
How to use this tool
- 1
Prepare and upload the workbook

Press Convert to PNG. Each printed page of the workbook becomes one PNG, numbered in order.
Excel to PNG for slides, docs and dashboards
Spreadsheets travel badly. Column widths shift between Excel, Google Sheets and Numbers, conditional formatting can disappear, and a recipient on a phone sees a cramped grid. A PNG of the finished page fixes the look: the numbers, colors and chart are shown exactly as you formatted them, and nobody can sort, filter or overwrite anything by accident.
PNG is the format of choice here because a spreadsheet image is almost all hard edges. Lossless compression keeps 1 px borders and 8 pt digits clean even after the picture is scaled to fit a slide, and flat cell fills compress into small files. The trade-off against a live file is that the values are frozen at the last save, and formulas are gone.
Excel decides the page. The converter does not guess which cells matter; it uses the workbook's print layout, so the print area, scaling and page breaks you set in Excel are what you get back. That makes the result repeatable: save the same settings, export next month's numbers and the images line up with last month's.

Three ways to prepare an Excel sheet for a PNG
Fence off one table
Select the cells, then Page Layout, Print Area, Set Print Area. Everything outside the range is ignored, so the image holds that table and nothing else.
Give a chart its own sheet
Move Chart, New sheet turns a chart into a chart sheet that prints edge to edge. It converts into a clean, full-page chart image.
Fit the width, not the height
In Scale to Fit, set Width to 1 page and Height to Automatic. Long tables keep readable text and continue onto the next image instead of shrinking.
XLSX
Microsoft Excel workbook
XLSX is Microsoft Excel's default workbook format since Office 2007, based on the Office Open XML standard. It stores multiple sheets, formulas, formatting, charts, pivot tables and data validation in a ZIP package of XML. It supports over a million rows per sheet and is the default exchange format for business spreadsheets. Google Sheets, LibreOffice and Numbers open XLSX, though macros and advanced features may not carry over.

PNG
Portable Network Graphics
PNG is a lossless raster format published in 1996 by the PNG Development Group and later standardised by the W3C and ISO. It keeps every pixel exactly, supports full alpha transparency and handles text, sharp edges and flat colours without artefacts. That precision makes it ideal for screenshots, logos, icons and interface graphics. The trade-off is size: photographs saved as PNG are often several times larger than the same photo as JPEG or WebP. All browsers, operating systems and editors open PNG files.

Spreadsheet images are mostly digits, thin borders and chart lines on flat fills, which PNG stores without loss and often more compactly than JPG; they also get pasted into slides and resized, where JPG artifacts become visible.
Gridlines, headers and fonts in the PNG
Two print options catch people out. Gridlines and the A, B, C column letters are hidden in print by default, and the image follows print. Tick Gridlines, Print and Headings, Print under Sheet Options on the Page Layout tab if you want the familiar spreadsheet look; otherwise give the table proper cell borders, which looks cleaner in a report anyway.
Fonts follow the same rule as any document. Calibri, Aptos and other standard Office fonts render as expected; a custom font that exists only on your computer may be replaced. If the data should later go back into cells, PNG to XLSX reads a table image into a new workbook.
Excel to PNG questions
How do I turn a single Excel chart into a PNG?
Select the chart in Excel, choose Chart Design, Move Chart, New sheet, and save. A chart sheet prints as one full page, so it converts into one PNG with nothing else around it. Set Pages to that page if the workbook has other sheets.
Is Excel's own Copy as Picture good enough?
For one small range pasted straight into another Office document, yes: Excel for Windows has Copy, Copy as Picture on the Home tab. It is limited to what you select by hand and to screen resolution. Converting the file gives you every page at 300 DPI as files you can keep and reuse.
Can the cell background be transparent in the PNG?
Turn on Transparent background. Areas with no fill become see-through, so a table without shading can sit on a colored slide. Cells with a fill color, including white fill set by a template, stay opaque.
Why is my Excel to PNG image tiny and hard to read?
The sheet is probably scaled down to fit one page, so a wide table is shrunk until the digits are small. Raise Resolution to 600 DPI, or loosen Scale to Fit in Excel so the table spans two pages and each image carries larger text.
Should I send a spreadsheet as PNG or JPG?
PNG for tables, charts and anything with thin lines, since there are no compression smudges around digits. XLSX to JPG makes smaller files for chat and email where the image is viewed once and not edited.
