Image to DOCX Converter
Most documents are more than one page. This converter turns images into DOCX files with editable text, and when the pages arrive together as a PDF or multi-page TIFF it writes them all into a single Word document in order.

Max 95 MB per file· Up to 20 files· Deleted after 30 minutes
Files are processed on our servers and deleted after 30 minutes.
For pages that mix two languages, e.g. Hindi with English words. Leave on none otherwise; an extra language slightly lowers accuracy.
Preserve keeps columns, paragraphs and tables where they were. Plain outputs one continuous block of text, easier to paste into forms.
PDF and multi-page TIFF input: read every page, only the first, or a range.
Pages to read, e.g. 1-3, 5, 8-10.
How to use this tool
- 1
Upload images or a multi-page file
Add up to 20 images, or one PDF or multi-page TIFF that holds all the pages, each file up to 95 MB.
- 2
Pick the pages
Output is Word (.docx) with Preserve layout. Under Advanced settings, Pages reads all pages, the first one or a range such as 2-9.
- 3
Recognize text
Press Recognize text. Each upload becomes one DOCX; a multi-page file becomes one DOCX with every page in it.
One image is easy. Twelve photos of a contract, a scanned booklet or a stack of handouts is where an image to DOCX conversion needs a plan: get the pages into one file first, then let the converter rebuild the structure page by page.
Multiple images to one DOCX file
The converter treats every uploaded file as one document. Twenty separate JPGs give twenty DOCX files, which is right for unrelated pages such as receipts. For one document spread over many images, the pages need to share a file before recognition: a PDF, or a multi-page TIFF, the format Aldus introduced in 1986 that many office scanners and fax software still save.
Scanners with a document feeder already produce such a file. For phone photos, combine them into a PDF with image to PDF, or join several shorter PDFs with merge PDF first. Upload the result and every page lands in one Word document in order. For a single JPEG page, JPG to DOCX explains how compression and pixel size affect the result.

Image to DOCX questions
How do I combine several images into one DOCX?
Put the images into one PDF first with image to PDF, in the order you want, then upload that PDF here. Every page is recognized and written into the same Word document. Uploading the images one by one instead gives one DOCX per image.
Will recognized headings appear in Word's Navigation pane?
Only once they use Word's heading styles. The converter keeps headings as larger, bold lines; select each one and apply Heading 1 or Heading 2 in Word, and the Navigation pane and an automatic table of contents pick them up.
A table runs across two page images. Can it become one table?
It comes out as two tables, one per page, usually separated by an empty paragraph. In Word, delete that paragraph and the two tables join into one, as long as they have the same number of columns.
In what order do the pages of a PDF land in the DOCX?
In the PDF's own page order, from the first page to the last, or within the range you set under Pages. To reorder, rearrange the pages in the PDF before uploading.
Can I skip the cover and index pages of a scanned booklet?
Yes. Set Pages to Page range and type the pages you want, for example 3-28. Only those pages are read, which also makes the conversion faster.
Why do running headers repeat on every page of the DOCX?
A header or page number printed on each sheet is just more text to recognition, so it is copied once per page. Delete the repeats, or set them up once as a real Word header after conversion.
