Sit in front of a plain wall in daylight, face the camera directly, keep both ears and eyebrows visible and remove sunglasses or caps.

Choose print or portal size

Bangladesh began issuing e-passports on 22 January 2020, the first country in South Asia to do so, and the Department of Immigration and Passports moved applications to an online portal. Since enrollment is biometric, the passport itself uses a photo taken at the office, so you cannot choose or retouch it. Avoid white clothing that blends into the backdrop and arrive with hair off the face.
The 45 × 55 mm print lives on everywhere else: verification papers, older paper forms, admission files, visa applications at some embassies in Dhaka and studio orders. Common Bangladesh photo problems
Portal says file too big
Phone photos are several MB. Turn on Limit file size with the number the form gives.
Wrong shape
A 45 × 55 mm crop squeezed into a square looks stretched. Crop the square from the original.
Uneven background
A colored wall or a shadow behind the head. Replace it with White or Light grey.
Face too small
Cutting a portrait out of a group picture leaves too little face. Take a new close shot.
Glasses glare
Reflections over the eyes make attestation officers ask for a new print. Take glasses off.
Outdated photo
Use a photo that matches how you look now; offices compare it with your face.
Bangladesh passport size photo questions
Do I need to bring a photo for a Bangladesh e-passport?
Adults do not. Your photo, fingerprints and iris scans are captured at the passport office during enrollment, after you submit the online application on the e-passport portal. A printed photo is still needed for some supporting papers, such as certain attestations.
What photo do I need for a child's e-passport in Bangladesh?

What is the photo size for a Teletalk government job application?
Teletalk job forms commonly ask for a 300 × 300 px photo no larger than 100 KB and a 300 × 80 px signature no larger than 60 KB. Each circular lists its own limits, so read the one you are applying to. The image resizer in pixels and KB handles the signature.
Is 45 × 55 mm the same as a stamp size photo?
No. A stamp size photo is much smaller and is used on a few forms and cards. The 45 × 55 mm frame is the larger portrait used on passport forms and for attestation by a gazetted officer.
