How to use this tool

  1. 1

    Upload the SVG

Add .svg files exported from Illustrator, Inkscape, Figma or a website. Up to 20 per batch, 95 MB each.

  2. 2

    Set width and background

The width starts at 2000 px under Resize output image; the height follows the drawing's proportions. Transparent areas is white, or choose black or a custom color.

  3. 3

    Convert and download

Press Convert to JPG and save the files or a ZIP. Everything you uploaded is deleted after 30 minutes.

An SVG has no size until something draws it. Converting to JPG means choosing that size in pixels, choosing what fills the transparent areas, and accepting that the result is a fixed picture rather than scalable artwork.

SVG to JPG converter: rasterizing at the size you choose

SVG became a W3C Recommendation in 2001. It describes shapes, paths and text as instructions, which is why a logo stays crisp at any zoom level. Most of the places you post images were built for photos, though. Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn do not accept SVG uploads, many slide and document templates refuse it, and print portals ask for JPG or PDF. Those systems need pixels.

This converter draws the vector at the width set under Resize output image and keeps the height in proportion to the drawing's viewBox. Because the shapes are drawn fresh at that width rather than stretched from a small bitmap, a 4000 px export is as sharp as a 400 px one. Pick the size the destination displays, or the print size at 300 DPI, and leave a margin for platforms that crop. For artwork that needs to stay transparent, SVG to PNG is the better target.

SVG

Scalable Vector Graphics

SVG is an XML-based vector format standardised by the W3C in 2001. Instead of pixels it describes shapes, paths and text, so it stays sharp at any size and is usually tiny for logos and icons. It supports transparency, CSS styling, scripting and animation, and every browser renders it natively. SVG is unsuitable for photographs, and complex illustrations can become slow to render. Illustrator, Inkscape, Figma and browsers can open and edit it.

JPEG image

JPEG (or JPG) is the most widely used photo format, standardised by the Joint Photographic Experts Group in 1992. It uses lossy compression that discards fine detail the eye is unlikely to notice, which keeps photos small enough for the web, email and phone storage. It handles smooth gradients and natural scenes well, but sharp text, line art and flat colours pick up visible blocky or fuzzy artefacts. JPEG has no transparency and no animation, and every re-save loses a little more quality. Every browser, phone, camera and image editor can open it.

SVG to JPG is for places that take photos but not vector files, such as social posts, thumbnails, slide templates and print portals, where a flat image with a solid background is expected; vectorizing a JPG back to SVG is a different job entirely.

Convert SVG to JPG with a white background

JPG cannot be transparent

Every transparent pixel of the SVG gets a solid color in the JPG. The default is white, which suits documents and most social posts. On a dark slide or a colored banner, choose Black or Custom color under Transparent areas so the logo does not sit in a white box.

Fonts, linked images and colors before you convert

Three things inside an SVG can change the JPG. Text that refers to a font by name depends on that font being available, so outline it first. Images linked from another web address may not load during conversion; embed them in the SVG or replace them. And CSS from the web page an SVG came from does not travel with the file, so an icon that looked blue on the site can render black on its own.

Colors are written in sRGB, the space SVG uses by default, so screens and social apps show the same colors you designed. For a print job, the DPI tag under Advanced settings records 300 DPI in the file without changing the pixels, which some print portals check. If the destination is a website that accepts modern formats, SVG to WebP gives a much smaller file than JPG at the same width.

SVG to JPG questions

Why do some converters give my SVG a black background?

Transparent pixels still carry a color value, usually black, and a converter that drops the alpha channel without filling it shows that black. Here transparent areas are filled with the color set under Transparent areas, white by default.

How many pixels does an SVG need for an A4 print?

At 300 DPI an A4 page is 2480 × 3508 px and US Letter is 2550 × 3300 px. Set Set width to 2480 or 2550 and the height follows the drawing; the vector is drawn at that size, so edges stay sharp.

Can the background be my brand color instead of white?

Yes. Under Advanced settings, set Transparent areas to Custom color and enter the hex value, for example #0B3D91. The color fills every transparent pixel, including the gaps inside letters.

Why do thin lines in my JPG look slightly fuzzy?

JPG compression works in 8 × 8 pixel blocks and leaves faint ripples next to hard edges, which shows most on line art. Raise Quality to 95, convert at a larger width, or use PNG when the artwork is mostly lines and flat color.

My SVG uses a custom font. What should I do before converting?

Convert the text to outlines first: Object to Path in Inkscape, Create Outlines in Illustrator, or Outline stroke and flatten in Figma. An SVG that only names a font relies on it being installed, and a substitute changes the look.
