EPS to PNG Converter
EPS files hold logos and illustrations as PostScript drawing instructions, which most apps no longer open. Converting EPS to PNG draws the artwork at the pixel width you choose and leaves the area around it transparent, ready for slides, websites and documents.

85 keeps photos visually identical to the original. Lower it only when you need a smaller file.
JPG, BMP and EPS have no transparency. Transparent pixels are filled with this color.
Hex color used behind transparent pixels, e.g. #FFFFFF.
This format holds a single image. Choose GIF or WebP output if you want to keep the animation.
A multi-size icon contains several resolutions in one file; browsers and operating systems pick the one they need.
Keep the original dimensions, or enter one side and the aspect ratio is kept.

Percentage of the original dimensions.
sRGB is right for screens and the web. Keep the original for print workflows; grayscale discards color.
Metadata only, 0 keeps the original value. Printers and some portals read this number; it does not change pixel dimensions.
How to use this tool
- 1
Upload the EPS files
Add logo files, stock vectors or print artwork, up to 20 at once and 95 MB each.
- 2
Set the pixel width
The output starts at 2400 px wide, enough for an 8-inch print at 300 DPI. Change it under Resize output image in Advanced settings; the height follows the artwork's proportions.
- 3
Convert to PNG
Press Convert to PNG and download the images individually or as a ZIP.
An EPS has no pixel size of its own, so the important decision is how wide the PNG should be. Pick the width for where the image will be used, and the artwork is drawn fresh at exactly that size.
Why EPS files need converting to PNG
Encapsulated PostScript is a single-page PostScript program with a bounding box, designed so that a page-layout program could place a logo or illustration inside a larger document. Adobe published PostScript in 1984, and version 3.0 of the EPS specification in 1992 became the format print shops, stock agencies and brand teams exchanged vector art in for the next two decades. Many company logo packs and stock vector downloads still ship as EPS.
The trouble is that the format depends on a PostScript interpreter. Word and PowerPoint stopped inserting EPS images in 2017, browsers never displayed it, and most image viewers show nothing or only a low-resolution preview embedded in the file. A PNG made from the EPS works everywhere, keeps the transparent area around the artwork, and stays sharp as long as you pick a large enough width. If the same logo also exists as an SVG, SVG to PNG does the job from that file.

EPS
Encapsulated PostScript
EPS is a PostScript-based graphics file from Adobe, long used to exchange vector artwork with printers and publishers. It can contain vectors, text and embedded raster images along with a low-resolution preview. EPS does not support transparency, and modern software has largely replaced it with PDF and SVG. Opening it typically requires Illustrator, Inkscape, Affinity Designer or a Ghostscript-based tool, and browsers cannot display it.

Portable Network Graphics
PNG is a lossless raster format published in 1996 by the PNG Development Group and later standardised by the W3C and ISO. It keeps every pixel exactly, supports full alpha transparency and handles text, sharp edges and flat colours without artefacts. That precision makes it ideal for screenshots, logos, icons and interface graphics. The trade-off is size: photographs saved as PNG are often several times larger than the same photo as JPEG or WebP. All browsers, operating systems and editors open PNG files.

EPS is rasterized to PNG when a logo or vector illustration has to appear in a slide, web page or document that cannot read PostScript; the opposite trip wraps pixels in EPS only for print workflows that ask for it.
Rasterizing vector art: what to expect
MythA 300 DPI setting makes the PNG sharper.
FactSharpness comes from the pixel width. The DPI tag only records a print size in the file; set the width from the table above instead.
MythEvery EPS file is vector artwork.
FactAn EPS can wrap a plain bitmap. Converting such a file reproduces the bitmap at its original detail and cannot add more.
MythThe PNG can be enlarged later like the EPS.
FactOnce rasterized, the artwork is fixed pixels. Convert again from the EPS at a larger width instead of scaling the PNG up.
MythEPS files have a transparent background.
FactEPS has no alpha channel, but unpainted areas around the artwork are left transparent in the PNG. A drawn white box stays white.
EPS to PNG questions
Why can't I open an EPS file on my computer?
EPS is PostScript, a page-description language, and reading it needs an interpreter that most apps do not include. Microsoft disabled EPS import in Office in 2017 for security reasons, and current versions of Preview on macOS no longer convert it either. Illustrator, Inkscape, Affinity Designer and CorelDRAW still open EPS.
What pixel width should I choose for an EPS logo?
Decide where the PNG will be used. For a website header or a slide, 1200 to 2000 px wide is plenty. For print, multiply the printed width in inches by 300; a logo printed 4 inches wide needs 1200 px. Larger is safe, since vector art is redrawn at every size without loss.
Will the background of my EPS be transparent in the PNG?
Areas the artwork does not paint come out transparent. Some EPS files, however, contain a white rectangle drawn behind the logo, and that rectangle stays white, because it is part of the drawing. Remove it in a vector editor, or use the PNG as it is on a white page.
Why does my EPS convert to a small, blurry picture?
Some EPS files are not vector at all; they wrap a photo or a low-resolution bitmap in a PostScript shell. Converting can only reproduce that bitmap. Open the file in a vector editor to check, or ask the designer for the original vector artwork.
Can I convert EPS to an editable vector format instead?
Yes, if you need to keep editing the shapes, use EPS to SVG, which keeps paths and text as vectors that browsers and design tools understand. Choose PNG when the artwork only has to be shown.
Do fonts in the EPS come out right?
Usually. Most EPS files from Illustrator embed the fonts they use or convert text to outlines. If a font was referenced but not embedded, a substitute font is used and the lettering may look different; ask for a version with text converted to outlines.
