PSD to JPG Converter
Get a shareable JPG out of a Photoshop document when you do not have Photoshop, or when you need twenty previews at once. You get the picture as it looked when it was last saved: layers merged, colors in sRGB, ready for email or a client review.

85 keeps photos visually identical to the original. Lower it only when you need a smaller file.
JPG, BMP and EPS have no transparency. Transparent pixels are filled with this color.
Hex color used behind transparent pixels, e.g. #FFFFFF.
This format holds a single image. Choose GIF or WebP output if you want to keep the animation.
A multi-size icon contains several resolutions in one file; browsers and operating systems pick the one they need.
Keep the original dimensions, or enter one side and the aspect ratio is kept.
Pixels for the side you chose above.
Percentage of the original dimensions.
sRGB is right for screens and the web. Keep the original for print workflows; grayscale discards color.
Metadata only, 0 keeps the original value. Printers and some portals read this number; it does not change pixel dimensions.
How to use this tool
- 1
Upload the .psd files
Add up to 20 Photoshop documents, 95 MB each. Layered files from any recent Photoshop version are fine.
- 2
Check quality and background
Quality is 92 so text and fine design detail stay crisp. Transparent areas are filled with white; change Transparent areas under Advanced settings for a dark design.
- 3
Press Convert to JPG
Download each JPG or a ZIP of all of them. The PSDs and JPGs are deleted after 30 minutes.
How do I convert a PSD to JPG without Photoshop?
Upload the PSD and press Convert to JPG. The layers are merged into one picture, CMYK documents are moved to sRGB, transparency becomes white, and you get a JPG anyone can open.
PSD to JPG without Photoshop: what gets flattened
Adobe shipped Photoshop 1.0 in 1990, and its native PSD format is laid out in fixed sections: a header, color data, a long section for layers, masks and effects, and at the end a merged copy of the whole picture. Programs that are not Photoshop rarely interpret every layer feature. They read that merged copy, and so does this converter.
In practice, that means you receive exactly what Photoshop displayed at the last save. Adjustment layers, blend modes, layer styles, smart objects and type layers are all included as pixels. Hidden layers, guides, artboard labels and history are not. The canvas size stays the same, and anything outside the canvas is cropped off.

Turn on Maximize PSD and PSB File Compatibility
When this Photoshop preference (Preferences > File Handling) is set to Never, the PSD is saved without its merged image to save disk space. Lightroom, image viewers and online converters then have nothing reliable to show. Set it to Always, re-save the PSD, and convert again.
PSD
Adobe Photoshop Document
PSD is Adobe Photoshop's native file format, in use since 1990. It stores layers, masks, adjustment layers, text, smart objects, channels and colour profiles so a design can be re-edited later without loss. Files are often very large, and full fidelity requires Photoshop; other editors such as GIMP, Photopea and Affinity open PSDs with varying accuracy. Browsers, phones and most upload forms cannot display PSD directly.

JPG
JPEG image
JPEG (or JPG) is the most widely used photo format, standardised by the Joint Photographic Experts Group in 1992. It uses lossy compression that discards fine detail the eye is unlikely to notice, which keeps photos small enough for the web, email and phone storage. It handles smooth gradients and natural scenes well, but sharp text, line art and flat colours pick up visible blocky or fuzzy artefacts. JPEG has no transparency and no animation, and every re-save loses a little more quality. Every browser, phone, camera and image editor can open it.

Designers and their clients convert PSD to JPG to share a flattened preview that opens anywhere; going from JPG to PSD only wraps a flat photo in a layered container for editing.
CMYK and 16-bit PSD files as JPG
Many PSDs were set up for print in CMYK mode, often at 16 bits per channel. A JPG for screens should be 8-bit sRGB, and that is what Color space is set to on this page. The embedded profile is used for the conversion, so colors land as close to the original as the screen gamut allows. Out-of-gamut CMYK colors are rare; the bigger visible change is usually in deep blacks that were built from four inks.
Transparent areas, such as a logo on an empty canvas, have to be filled because JPG cannot store them. White suits most mockups. For a design on a dark theme, set Transparent areas to black or a custom hex value. If the JPG needs to fit an upload limit, reduce the width under Resize output image or send it through compress image afterwards rather than lowering quality below 80.
PSD to JPG questions
Can I open a PSD without Photoshop just to get a JPG?
Yes, that is what this page is for. Upload the .psd, press Convert to JPG and you get the flattened picture, no Adobe account or install needed. You cannot edit layers here; for that you need a layer-aware editor.
Why is my converted PSD blank, white or a checkerboard?
The document was most likely saved with Maximize PSD and PSB File Compatibility turned off, so Photoshop did not store a merged image inside the file. Open it in Photoshop, turn the option on under Preferences, File Handling, save once and convert again.
Are hidden layers included in the JPG?
No. The JPG shows what was visible when the file was last saved. Turn a layer on and save if you need it in the preview, or turn a draft layer off before sending the PSD for conversion.
What happens to smart objects, text and layer effects?
They appear exactly as rendered when the document was saved: drop shadows, adjustment layers, smart filters and live text are baked into the pixels. Fonts do not need to be installed anywhere, because nothing is re-rendered.
Why do the colors of my CMYK PSD look different as JPG?
Print documents use CMYK inks, and screens use RGB light. Converting to sRGB maps every ink mix to its nearest screen color using the embedded profile, so a rich black or a bright cyan may shift slightly. For print files that must stay CMYK, export from Photoshop instead.
Can I get each layer as a separate JPG?
Not with this converter; it outputs the flattened image. In Photoshop, File > Export > Layers to Files writes one image per layer. For a single cut-out with transparency, convert with PSD to PNG instead.
